As a mother, that affected me very much, The way the author was able to toggle between the present and the past without any difficulty was a very nice surprise and added a lot to the story. In summary, I enjoyed this story very much and look forward to reading more of this author's work.5/5 stars.I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for my honest opinion. The Brono s seats and interior feature accents of. He was definitely my favorite character! I felt so bad for Mackenzie's mother and how hard she was just trying to cope on a day to day basis without losing her mind. The Charles Schwab Challenge announced Tuesday that the 2023 champion will receive a 1973 Schwab Bronco along with a Royal Tartan Plaid jacket. Mackenzie was an interesting character, and I really loved her relationship with Wes, Mr. The characters were dealing with so much pain, and this was written in such a way that it wasn't gratuitous at all, which could easily have happened. The characters were fully fleshed out, and the setting was unique. The dead are called Histories, and the vast realm in which they rest is the Archive.'What a great concept! I really did love everything about this book. 'Each body has a story to tell, a life seen in pictures only Librarians can read. It's not too violent or graphic but does have a romance plot interwoven, which plays in with the main plot, and it's only touched upon, there's no sex, so it is appropriate for readers 12ish and older. (I listened to the audiobook through Scribd.) But it was still enjoyable, and I'm off to read the next in the series. It's not a bad story, though not as good as the other stories I've listened to of the authors. Teenager Mackenzie is one of those who hunt the escaped, brought into the secret by her grandfather because he was dying and she had the gift. That is the premise of this story and more are escaping than should be. But there are a few, whose job it is to catch them and send them back. When you die your soul, your life, your memories are placed on a shelf in a library, and every so often one of these memories wakes up and tries to find their way out into the world, and as they try, they become confused, angry, and dangerous.

This makes for an exciting read as Dorthea and her ragtag group travel from kingdom to kingdom on their quest. Then one wish gone awry unlocks the laws of magic and sends Dorothea on a journey to save magic and the fairy tale kingdom from destruction.Ī story set in Oz….well sorta 😉 The entire story is set in a land of fairy tales, like every fairy tale you can think of has its own kingdom including the Land of Emerald. A curse placed on all the females of her family keeps her a prisoner in her own palace. Set in the land of fairy tales come to life, Dorthea is the spoiled princess and prisoner of the Emerald Palace. Spelled by Betsy Schow encompasses everything I LOVE and HATE about young adult fiction. Trying to fix her prince problem by wishing on a (cursed) star royally backfires, leaving the kingdom in chaos and her parents stuck in some place called 'Kansas.' Now it's up to Dorthea and her pixed off prince to find the mysterious Wizard of Oz and undo the curse.before it releases the wickedest witch of all and spells The End for the world of Story. But a forced marriage to the brooding prince Kato is so not what Dorthea had in mind for her enchanted future. Sure being the crown princess of Emerald has its perks-like Glenda Original ball gowns and Hans Christian Louboutin heels. Yeah, no thanks. Dorthea is completely princed out. Spelled by Betsy Schowįairy Tale Survival Rule #32: If you find yourself at the mercy of a wicked witch, sing a romantic ballad and wait for your Prince Charming to save the day. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of this review.
